SIH at the Australian Geoscience Council Convention

Sydney Informatics Hub travelled to Adelaide this week for the Australian Geoscience Council Convention (https://www.agcc.org.au/). SIH provided a training workshop at the conference entitled *** Python for Geoscience ***, which targeted the changing landscape of scientific fields not traditionally ingrained in data-science culture. The course encouraged the use of tools, like the Python programming language, to be used by non-traditional users. Many of the themes at the conference highlighted cross-discipline collaboration (particularly with ‘data-scientists’) to enable research innovation.
